International Regulation

AMAS works proactively towards an internationally leading and competitive regulatory framework – in areas such as sustainability, investment funds, taxation, private markets and technology – in close cooperation with partner associations, regulatory authorities, industry and members.

AMAS is an active member of the and the globally active , which are committed to creating optimal conditions for the asset management industry in its efforts to generate value for investors.

AMAS is also a member of the , which includes the Swiss Bankers Association, and is thus represented in Brussels. Membership strengthens the voice of the Swiss asset management industry with the aim of shaping EU policy in favour of Swiss interests and ensuring that regulation supports growth.

With a market share of over 11%, Swiss asset management is the third largest location in Europe. Around one third of the assets managed in Switzerland come from foreign institutional clients, which underlines the export nature of Swiss asset management. Further growth depends heavily on expanding the client base in international markets.

At the same time, Switzerland's ambition to become a global hub for sustainable finance is underpinned by a robust regulatory framework that is consistent with EU standards such as the EU taxonomy. The SFC's dialogue with EU stakeholders helps to integrate Swiss asset managers into these frameworks.
